Pennies for Spenny - Help Us Beat Neuroblastoma!!

Donation protected
Spencer's treatment plan will span 1 1/2 years which consists of chemotherapy, surgery, stem cell transfusions, radiation and immunotherapy.   Spencer will be at Barbara Bush every third week with two weeks off for a period of time and then on to Boston Childrens hospital where the family will need to stay at that location for 2 1/2 weeks each time they visit.  Graham is the only source of income so when he is supporting Spencer and the family during these visits there will be no money coming in.  I have created this GoFundMe page to give friends and family who would like to contribute to the recovery a place to do so.  The family has been overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and prayers from so many people with prayer chains across the country.  It is so heartwarming during a time like this where we do not expect our babies to be faced with cancer.

Below is a recap that Krissy had posted to Facebook to let everyone know what has happened.

Spencer's road to recovery will require the family to be in the hospital with Spencer every third week for a week for those treatments at Barbara Bush and 2 1/2 weeks for those treatments that are done at the Children's Hospital in Boston .

As a few of you know, our sweet guy Spencer has been diagnosed Cancer. They found a neuroblastoma tumor above his left kidney and lesions throughout his hips. Our hearts are broken but we are going to beat this.

His road to recovery is quite extensive, we are looking at 18 months of frequent hospitalizations between here, Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital, and Boston Children’s. He will start with chemo followed by surgery to remove the tumor, stem cell transfusions, radiation and immunotherapy. All terms I wish I didn’t have to ever learn. Each stay in Boston will be about 2.5 weeks and with chemo we should expect to be here a week and a half every 3 weeks. He has already had surgery to place a Hickman central line as well as an open biopsy and a bone marrow draw. He’s in a considerable amount of pain but I feel this morning we are turning a corner.

He’s stronger than we are ❤️ The last 5 days have been the worst 5 days of our lives. Watching him go from a vibrant, energetic child to being SO fragile and vulnerable is nothing I wish upon my worst enemy. We will keep everyone updated as we can. We truly appreciate all of the texts and messages. I took a bit of a hiatus from social media so I apologize for just getting back to people.

Trust your parental intuition and never stop pushing. I can’t help but think of different ways we could have pushed harder. We knew his labs were crazy, we knew something was off. I’m thankful everyday that we pushed because upon admission, he wasn’t walking. By day 2, we couldn’t keep up with him and he was keeping everyone here on their toes. He appeared 100% better. He wasn’t.
