Penelope Rue Heart Warrior

Our daughter, Penelope Rue, was born with a very critical congenital heart disease. The official diagnoses are Critical Aortic Stenosis, Left Ventricular Aneurysm, and Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome Variant. She has already gone through 7 procedures in her short life, 4 were in her first 4 days of life... 1 was within 3 hours of birth. She has had 2 open heart surgeries and is gearing up for another 2 open heart surgeries in the near future (one upcoming in March 2017). We lost our first daughter, Ellie, when she was 17 weeks gestation. It was heartbreaking but we got to hold her before we said goodbye. We had our second daughter, Kayleigh, who is 2 years old and very healthy. Now Rue is our third daughter and very sick. We are from Georgia but moved our entire life to Boston so she can receive the medical care she needs. For the rest of her life she will live with a heart that only utilizes one of her ventricles. She has undergone the first of three stage palliation open heart surgeries. Every donation received will be used for her growing hospital bills as well as her lifesaving prescriptions. She sees several different doctors on a weekly basis. We are paying co-pays, prescriptions, surgeons, cardiologists, dietitians, and a lot more for her medical expenses.
