Pekoe needs our help

Pekoe has never been my Cat but he always snuck into my home to cuddle me. I made the effort to find his owners on multiple occasions but he always came back to me. On Sept 6th I got ahold of his owner as pekoe had a sore leg (if follow the attached link to Pekoes Facebook page you will see she up and left him to me while he was in a bad way.) A few days ago Pekoe went missing so I figured his owner came and got him before she moved away but today the SPCA called to say she moved and left him and that he got hit by a car and told them he is now my cat. I would love to keep him here but cannot afford the vet bill. I will pay the SPCA bill but am asking the animal lovers of the world to help out with his big vet bill. Any monies raised will go directly to Pekoes care. If we raise more I will be donating it to local animal rescue agencies. Please help us get Pekoe home with us in his new forever home full of love. If money cannot be raised I will be forced to turn him over to the SPCA where they will pay his vet bill but adopt him out to someone else. I know we offered to keep him in our care but I didn’t intend to start with 400$ in bills as I am just not in a position to do that at the moment.
