Valentina Valencia Jimenez was born January 27, 2016; we fell in love with her the minute we saw her for the first time. I had a healthy pregnancy and my previous pregnancies were good never had any problems with anything. Valentina was growing perfectly according to her pediatrician she was such a happy baby loved by everyone, we had some concerns about her vomiting all the time, head a little bit bigger than usual but doctor always had an answer and he just said it was normal. 8 months later on Tuesday October 11th my baby woke up happy normal, around 9:30 am she woke up from a nap and was just vomiting more that usual with a lot of pressure she couldn't keep anything on her tummy. Called doctors office but they couldn't give me an appointment because they thought it was just a stomach virus, she continued to throw up, she took another nap in which she woke up moving a lot I tried to sat her down and she would just fall she had no balance and very weak I thought she was dehydrated. Mom held her and looked at her and saw something horrible, her eyes were crossed and she was just not her so I called an ambulance. They got there as soon as they could since we live far from everything, well we arrived to the hospital Shelby Baptist Hospital to be exact. Well there she had her first seizure they did everything they could they did A scan on her head and they saw that she had a very large tumor, they rushed her to Children's Of Alabama hospital by helicopter and as soon as they got here they talked to us about doing a surgery to remove the blood clot from her brain and they told us that she could die in there, she survived and after then it's just been a roller coaster and they told us that scientifically there's nothing they can do, so they told us to make the hardest decision of our lives if we should keep trying to what they say is the impossible or keep putting our baby through all the pain. During this time here at the hospital my husband and I haven't been able to work thankfully this Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation has been helping us since we are here so we want to raise money for other families that are going thru what we are. It's sad that it had to happen this to my baby for us to give to our community but we feel in hearts the need to help so whatever you decide to donate we will really appreciate it. God bless you all.
