Pedal with a Purpose: NSW/SA Bushfire Fundraiser

Hi all!
A little about me, my name is Matt, I’m just your average 23 year old bloke from Adelaide, Australia. My hobbies include hanging out with mates, watching the basketball and bodybuilding!
I have edited this fundraiser page slightly now to help include the victims that have also been involved in my state, South Australia so that I can help support everyone as much as possible!
My “why”:
You’ve seen everywhere you look at the moment NSW/SA are being devastated by a horror bushfire; hundreds of people are losing their homes, lives have been lost, communities torn to pieces and wildlife is being completely upturned in this disaster that its shocking the country.
I sat looking at these articles, Facebook posts and News footage, it made me feel sad and angry that I was there fine, roof over my head with no real struggle and wondered what I could do, how I could make a difference and help all these people and animals that are going to be aching for months on end; it came to me that if I can raise some money to donate to some of these companies working tirelessly to support those in need!
Who I will be supporting:
I will be supporting “The Salvation Army” who support “the people” as a whole, whether it’s those directly affected, firefighters and those who just need some help and I will be supporting “The Rescue Collective” who will/are supplying support to all animals that are injured, dehydrated and suffering.
What I plan on doing:
I’m by no means a bike rider, only enough to really know I can stay on two wheels and ride, I plan on riding 450km throughout South Australia on a planned week at the end of December, from the 26th of December until the 2nd of January, hopefully quite quicker than a week though, fitness and weather pending how long it actually takes.
Why 450km?!
I chose 450km because it relates to the 450,000 hectares which was the area burnt on “Black Saturday”, one of the worst Bushfires in Australian history which had a huge impact on this country we call home.
What will happen with donations:
Any money I raise here I am going to split 50/50, donating half to The Salvation Army to support “people” in need and “The Rescue Collective” who will/are supplying support to all animals that are in need!
