Adrienne's Moving Fund

Hi friends and community, the move to ABQ is on! I've spent the last few weeks packing/selling/giving away my stuff, saying many sad goodbyes, tying up organizing loose ends, and frantically looking for a place and a job in my new destination. As of last week, I managed to find a sweet place to live and have already put down first month's rent and a deposit for my new pad in ABQ. 

This week I'm finishing up packing, saying more good byes, and applying for dozens more jobs while at the same time prepping to drive my AAPRP Oregon comrades down to Oakland on Friday the 27th for African Liberation Day. We'll be spending the weekend there and building the AAPRP, then driving back up to Oregon on Monday. Three days after we get back - June 1st - I'll be setting out for ABQ solo with my dog, my cat, and everything I own packed into the back of a Kia Soul. Yup, that's right - that's TWO life changing road trips, three days apart. 

The drive to Albuquerque is a little under 1500 miles and I anticipate it taking about three days (I hope!). I've realized that after shelling out to make sure I actually have a safe destination in my new city, I'm running pretty low on funds. I'm unemployed at the moment (hire me tho: https://acabouet.github.io/) so the bit of money I have right now is the only money I've got for the foreseeable future. That's where I'm hoping you come in! 

I need help covering travel costs (gas and emergencies), bills, and I'm hoping another month of rent once I get to ABQ so I have a little breathing room to find my footing.

I would be eternally grateful and appreciative of any amount my chosen fam in Portland is able to donate to this cause. Anything you can spare would go a loooooong way.

I am a person who has been on her own without a safety net since the age of 18. I have done ludicrous and sketchy (skeeeeeetchy) things to survive. This is the first time in my life where I've had a community to turn to for support and it is entirely due to the friends and connections I've made while engaged in revolutionary organizing work in Portland. I'm gonna be grateful to you all and to this city forever.
