Help Us Start An Orphanage

My name is Jenny Dawson, I am the President and Founder of Hearts Helping Haiti. We are a 501(c)3 non profit organization dedicated to helping orphans in Haiti. We started this adventure in 2012 with high hopes and big dreams. Haiti stole my heart in 2009 and ever then since I have continued to go back. After the earthquake in 2010 my views on Haiti suddenly shifted. I had always gone for medical clinics, but I could not get my mind off the orphaned children. The past three years we have been devoted to providing orphans with clean, safe drinking water, food, medical care, clothing, schooling, shelter, and love.
We are currently trying to raise money to start our own orphanage. Haiti is a very corrupt nation and in order to know 100% that the money donated is being used correctly we need to have an orphanage run by the organization. In the past we have just helped provide monetary donations on a monthly basis and we physically take hundreds of pounds of donations down to Haiti multiple times a year. In order to better serve the orphans in Haiti we need to be in charge of everything. Unfortunatly, helping other orphanages has been very trying and difficult. When we send money down to Haiti the money is not always used for what we are sending it for. We need to be able to have 100% control over the money we are sending and the only way to do this is to have our own orphanage.
We have so many dreams! We want to be able to send these orphans to school and truly make a difference in their lives. We want them to learn a trade so that when they are old enough they can live on their own and make a living. We want to teach them life lessons that hopefully they can pass on to their own children. An orphan can change the world and we want to be the change.
We would like to start this orphanage as soon as possible and are currently raising funds to purchase property. With your help we can continue our dream and change the lives of orphans in Haiti.
