On November 22nd at 12:30, our apartment was burned to the ground by an unattended cigarette left on the porch of the apartment beneath us.
Even though the fire department responded to the call immediately, our apartment was a total loss. The fire burned for over 7 hours despite the thousands of gallons of water used by the firefighters.

At this point, my girlfriend Lizi Myers and I have been very fortunate to have received $250 from Red Cross and temporary living arrangements from our apartment complex. The company I worked for has donated some clothes and money for us as well.
The fire left us literally out on the sidewalk in t-shirts and underwear holding our dog watching as everything we had burned to a crisp.
I hate to ask anyone for help but a few of our friends have requested that we make a gofundme account so that they may donate to help us through this awful time. If you feel inclined to help, we will be eternally grateful. We are in the midst of a huge transition as we move from Austin, TX to New York and every penny raised helps us rebuild and move forward in our journey.
