Unite the San Joaquin Valley by providing a healthy food option for all. Please, support RawFresno, a homegrown local business, as they make this effort to help in the revitalization of downtown Fresno. 
RawFresno began in 2006, when I lost my young son, Ian, because of a digestive disorder called Celiac. His anatomy refused to embody the overwhelming amounts of gluten he was taking in daily. His diet was the diet of any "normal" person: pizza, lasagna, burgers, pancakes, milk & Gatorade.
But, this diet caused him to begin having seizures at 20 years of age.
After 3 years of mourning his death, I realized and was diagnosed with digestive disorder called Disbyosis. My doctor told me that I had to remove all processed food from my diet, essentially leaving me able to only eat what I could make at home. It was mandatory that I go gluten-free, sugar-free, dairy-free, vinegar-free & soy-free to survive. In shock, I wondered, what else was there left to eat? I went to the local Farmers Market to find that fruits, vegetables, nuts & seeds were my friends. So, in the beginning, I ate a lot of pico de gallo & guacamole until I educated myself how to prepare the produce into a delicacy.
This new reality was so foreign to me as I had grown up in a Southern family eating biscuits, gravy, meat & potatoes.
But, in just a week of cutting out all of these items my symptoms began fading away. l continued my research and found a vast education about eating Raw food, plant-based, whole30, vegan lifestyle.... I quickly realized there was a whole population, right here in my hometown, that was starving to death because of the autoimmune diseases that embodied those on the Standard American diet.
I knew at that point I had to learn all that I could and share what I was learning. In a short period of time, by eliminating the bad and adding the good, I could not only eat, but feel good.
My motto became very quickly, "Let thy food be thy medicine."
Thus, RawFresno was born.
