Justice for Serenity and her Brothers - OFFICIAL GOFUNDME

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved daughter, niece and granddaughter, 4-year old Serenity, who died needlessly at the hands of her abusive stepmother who thank goodness is behind bars and awaiting justice.

Serenity died from complications associated with severe trauma to the brain.  We will spare you all the details. She was the sweetest, funniest, sassiest little girl - proud of being able to brush her own hair, put on her own shirt and fold her own laundry.  She always wanted to show us what she was capable of - rarely asking for help - always asking us to “watch her now…”

It has recently come to our family’s attention that her biological mother has been trying to gain sympathy from the court of public opinion.  Rest assured, this gofundme page is the family’s OFFICIAL GOFUNDME page. The biological mother has not been a part of Serenity or her brothers life since they were infants.  The court took them away from her for good cause.

The grand irony is that while they were removed from their biological mother’s care, they unfortunately and shockingly have been quietly suffering at the hands of another abusive woman, their current stepmother.

Please help us help these children.

Thank goodness for the charities associated with Victim of Violent Crimes who have agreed to pay for the entire funeral costs of burying this little girl.

But these boys are going to need financial support for the rest of their lives.  They carry with them such trauma and fears. They need constant love and support.  Our family is currently trying to figure out how to care for these two brothers, taking time off from work, rearranging careers, looking to hire domestic abuse counselors.  The boys need support and you can help.

Some information below may help you get a better picture of who we are and what our goal is:

1.  Who we are:  I am the biological, paternal grandmother of the deceased, Ms. Serenity Moore.  I am also the mother of Serenity's biological father.  At the time of her death, my son had full, sole and legal custody of his daughter.  The biological mother lost all custodial rights to her children for various legal reasons.

2.  Where you're from:  I currently reside in Stockton, California, just minutes from Serenity's home.

3.  Relationship to parties for whom you are raising funds:  I am the grandmother of the surviving brothers for whom these funds are being raised.

4.  How will the funds be spent:  Every dollar that is raised will be placed into a bank account for the boys and will be used for their medical, educational and daily needs.  My daughter, the boys biological aunt, is currently fostering the children while raising two daughters of her own.  Funds raised will help pay for their day care, food, clothing, and medical bills while in foster care.  Much will be saved for their future educational needs.  The money given to the foster family by the State for child care is not sufficient.  We are currently unsure about how long these boys will remain in their aunt's care.  This could be months or years.  The funds will follow the boys and will be for their use and their use alone.

5.  How do you intend to get the funds to those in need?  Once we are able to gain access to the funds, every cent will be placed into a bank account in trust for the two brothers, Serenity's 4-year old twin and her 5-year old brother.  The foster mother, the children's biological aunt, will be the only adult who has access to this account, and as the foster parent, will be fully responsible for the management of these and future donations.

Other information:  Our family is currently in a heated legal battle which involves a criminal investigation to determine fault for the death of this dear little girl and to establish custodial rights for the surviving siblings.  There are currently restraining orders against the biological mother.

Any support from near or far may help these boys live a better life.  Thanks for taking a moment to consider helping our family.
