Paula (PJ) Salazar-Johnson Medical-Illness

Donation protected
During this past Christmas break Paula (PJ) suffered a Brain Aneurysm and had to have Brain Surgery before the Aneurysm had a chance to burst. On January 10th, 2019 Paula went to Albuquerque Presbyterian Hospital for Brain Surgery to clip/block the Brain Aneurysm she suffered. While in surgery Paula had complications from the surgery and suffered from a stroke and seizures. While in the ICU it was a very critical time as she lost feeling on her entire left side of her body along with complications to her right eye. As the week passed Paula was fortunate to start regaining feeling to the left side of her body and doing better little by little.
By the end of the week it was determined that we were able to bring Paula closer to home, so Presbyterian allowed Paula to be transferred to Santa Fe St. Vincent's Hospital. On January 18th, 2019 Paula was transferred via Ambulance from Albuquerque to Santa Fe St. Vincent's Hospital. When Paula arrived at St. Vincent's Hospital as the Ambulance Company employees were taking her off of the Ambulance on the gurney they dropped her, causing her to slam the pavement head first. Considering  she had major brain surgery for an aneurysm, then a stroke and seizures she now has to deal with this blow to her head. The fall caused her entire left side of her head/face to be bruised up and swollen, along with her nose, hand, elbow and knee. Thankfully Hospital Images concluded that due to this fall there was no bleeding in the brain, but of course there was shifting in the head from the blow, causing her severe head pain, short attention span and some memory loss, we are praying there is no other long term effects. Although this has been another setback she is slowly coming around and beginning Inpatient Rehabilitation. This is going to be a very long road to recovery but the Doctors are optimistic. At this time Paula is very weak but appears to be making some progress little by little. We are so thankful to everyone for all of the thoughts and continued prayers. At this time due to the continued setbacks it has now affected Paula's ability to pay bills and other daily expenses, this puts us in a bind where she needs assistance in getting her bills paid and in also paying on her home, so she is not at risk to lose it, her daily bills and now medical expenses will be an uphill battle. Any financial assistance will definitely help Paula tremendously. We are respectfully and humbly asking for donations to assist Paula as she is going through all of this. Paula and the family are truly grateful. As Paula is fighting every day to get better and eventually come home she will be under 24/7 medical care for quite some time. The road to her recovery will be long but as we know Paula she is a true fighter with the biggest of hearts. Thank you for your consideration and for all the prayers, may God bless you all.
