Paul Romans' Medical Expenses

For those of you that don't know me, my name is Holly Duvall. My husband Greg and I relocated to the Coastal Bend almost five years ago because of our dear friends Paul and Candy Romans. Paul, who had been an executive and leader in oil industry, took a chance on Greg and hired him on as a mud engineer. The Eagleford Shale was booming and life was good! It soon took a downward turn and thousands of jobs were lost, including Paul's thus so were the benefits. With a large family to support, he and Candy chose to forfeit the expensive Cobra option, hoping the next opportunity would be soon to come. Candy started working and Paul went back to school to finish the MBA program and started freelance writing. He was due to finish the program on March 8th.
The morning of February 20th Paul suffered a stroke at only 50 years old. As you can imagine this has turned him and his family's lives upside down! Paul lost mobility in his right side and has impaired speech and reflexes. He is having to learn to walk again, talk again and many other simple things we all take for granted.
Paul and Candy have seven children between them, they are hard-working people, loving & doting parents, faithful Christians, and the truest of friends. They have always been extremely responsible with managing their affairs, but this unexpected twist has really hit them.
Not only did the stroke require a hospital stay, it required a second rehab hospital stay and soon will require ongoing care along with long-term rehabilitation therapies when he returns home. There is no telling how long before he can work again, if he can work again, and Candy can only work so much between caring for him and their children.
They need our help! The medical bills will be rolling in and they will be substantial so every little bit counts. Chipping away at these expenses will allow the family some dignity and will allow Candy (my best friend and soul sister) to rest a little easier. She has been through so much just witnessing her husband go through this.
