Paul Nixon Memorial Scholarship 2019

Tax deductible
Help our 2019 graduating YAPsters go to college!

We are raising funds for scholarships for three graduating high school seniors who will be going to college this fall. These scholarships are for tuition, books and general college expenses.

Estefany, Clara and Winnie are graduating from Jamestown's Youth Apprentice Program (YAP) and have been working as assistants in our afterschool programs, while also learning about healthy lifestyle, financial capability, family planning, and college and career options.

Jamestown's YAP program boasts a 100% graduation rate, and all graduating seniors enroll in a 2 or 4 year college.  The reason the program is so successful is the close mentoring relationships that support these young people from low income families as they grow and prepare to be successful adults. Help these seniors be successful as they become the first in their families to go to college!

The fund is named in the memory of our beloved Paul Nixon, a dedicated teacher, father, and neighborhood leader who was the first President of the Board of The Jamestown Community Center who dedicated his life to supporting San Francisco youth.
