Paul Landry needs our help!

On June 4th, Paul was admitted into the hospital with an infection in his foot that resulted from a minor procedure he had done several months before. It has been quite a roller coaster ride for him. He has since had 2 debridement surgeries to try to remove dead tissue and stop the infection. Right after the last debridement surgery, he had a near heart attack but fortunately was able to be saved with medication. The infection was so severe that it triggered diabetic acidosis and Paul almost didn't make it. No amount of antibiotics was going to clear up the infection and it was decided that in order to save his life, he would have to have his foot amputated. Paul went through his first surgery yesterday, and will have another one in a couple days to remove some of his leg to ensure all infected tissue and bone is removed and so that he can later be fitted for a prosthetic. Paul's heart has been weakened and is very fragile because of all this, he will undergo a procedure tomorrow to determine if he needs a defibrillator. If so, they will need to wait until the infection has cleared entirely before he can have the defibrillator implanted. Paul is unable to work and his bills are mounting. He is not the type to ask for help, so I am asking all of you to please give what you can to help him with hospital bills/co-pays, medications, his mortgage, making his his home accessible for him and other expenses. He has a long road ahead of him and is not out of the woods yet. I would love it if we were able to take some of the stress off him so he can concentrate on getting well.
