Antonia "Toni" Tirado - Medical Expenses

Toni is a retired Police Detective from the New York City Police Department. Her husband, Frank, is also a retired Detective from the N.Y.P.D. They both served with honor and pride for 20 years. In Toni's same commitment to service, when she retired she then became a volunteer and substitute teacher at her children's school whom many relied on. Her husband currently runs the CrimeStopper program at Chocachatti Elementary School in Florida, 3 days a week for the past 12 years.
On September 26, 2018, Toni Tirado was the victim of a horrific hit and run while doing something she truly enjoyed - walking. Toni walked 8 miles a day as part of her workout regiment. As a result of this cowardly act, Toni suffered a traumatic brain injury, broken bones in both arms, internal injures, as well as an amputation of her leg. She has been in the hospital and rehab for the past 3 months and is now home. Toni is now restricted to life in a wheelchair. As of this date, there has been no arrest made in this hit and run, but the investigation continues and we hope and pray for justice.
Frank has tried his best to financially survive these past 4 months. Unfortunately, the medical expenses are overwhelming and insurance is only covering portions of the necessities and in some cases nothing at all. All proceeds raised will go towards the following needs:

The family is truly devastated and will never be the same. They struggle daily. Toni is an amazing wife, wonderful mother, loving grandma and a great friend. Frank and their high school aged son, “little” Frank are Toni's sole caregivers.
