Patrick's excitement in St. Paul

Donation protected
Patrick has always been a very outgoing little boy. Right around Thanksgiving, he had a seizure. At the time, we had no clue that this was what was happening. We honestly thought he was overly upset about something and at the same time playing around. Two weeks later, we found ourselves in the ER at Childrens' Hospital in Omaha. We were set up for an EEG and sent on our way. However, Patrick started having regular seizures the following week so we went to our pediatrician to see what her recommendation was. We were able to get the EEG done that week and found out that he most likely had epilepsy.  Patrick had an MRI on the 19th of December and ended up being admitted to Children's on the 21st because he was having more and more seizures. He did get to spend Christmas at home, but we were back at Children's on the 27th. From there he was put on mulitple medications, none of them worked. We asked about being transferred to Children's in St. Paul, MN because of the epilepsy specialists there. Of course we had a lovely time working this out with our insurance, who did approve the transfer, but that doesn't mean they are going to cover everything.  So, here we are in St. Paul after having lived at Children's in Omaha for about two and a half weeks.  We were here for a day and recieved a diagnosis, cortical dysplaysia, as well as being medicine resistant (he has been on eight so far and nothing has helped stop or slow down his seizures). At this point in time, we are unsure how long we will be here. It could be a few days, a week, a couple weeks, no one knows yet as we don't know what his treatment will be until he has his scans done. We are grateful to everyone for their support, love, and prayers. We are going to have some bills of course, especially since we are in a hotel, but also because I really don't think our insurance will cover everything they are going to have to do.
If we do reach our goal, or receive more than our goal. we are planning to donate the extra funds to the organizations that have helped us along the way.
Again, we appreciate everything that everyone has done for us over the past month. Your words of kindness and support have lifted us up during some extremely dark times.
