Help us pay for Patrick the Kitten's surgery to remove a HUGE polyp!
Patrick is a 7-month-old kitten rescued from a colony of feral cats. When he was first rescued, we noticed he was very congested with a severe wheeze. No matter what medicines we tried, Patrick's congestion and breathing got worse and worse. Patrick started having trouble swallowing, and he began losing weight.
Patrick has lots of cat friends in his foster home, plays with catnip mice and feather toys, and follows his foster parents around like a tiny shadow, wanting to be included in all their activities. We knew it would be expensive to diagnose and treat him, but Patrick is such a good kitten we decided he deserves a chance at a healthy life in a forever home.
An X-ray showed a mass in Patrick's sinuses, but a CT scan was necessary before the surgeons could remove it. The doctors at Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Cary removed a VERY large polyp blocking Patrick's airway and throat. It took a great effort to remove the mass due to the location of the large mass and Patrick's small size. Patrick has stayed at VSH for 2 days to get extra oxygen and care after such a hard procedure. We hope he will leave the hospital soon.
The cost of his care has unfortunately landed in the high end of the initial estimate. We have posted the initial estimate, and will provide the final bill when we receive it. We're asking for donations to help us offset the cost of Patrick's care.
