On Thursday, January 17th, Patrick was out for his run with his faithful companion, Maisie dog, when he suffered a major cardiac event. Thanks to the actions of good Samaritans, Sacopee Valley Rescue, the Life Flight helicopter crew, some incredible medical intervention from Maine Medical Center, and his own indomitable spirit, Patrick has survived a 10+ hour open heart surgery, and what is frequently known to be fatal.
Now, the hard work of recovery begins... The road to full health is going to be a long and painful one, but we know Patrick has the spirit and strength to do it.
Patrick is unable to work, and Theressa is having to take time off to care for Patrick as he takes on the challenge of rehab. Medical bills, even with insurance, add up quickly, but so do the bills of day to day life, not the least of which include the costs of flights and transportation for their kids, meals, and numerous other services, some of which haven't even started yet. We can't do the physical and mental hard work of rehab and recovery, but we can ease the stress and strain of immediate financial worries.
We all know that Patrick would give each of us the shirt off his back if we were up against it, and now is the time to rally to his side and help one of the genuinely good guys.

You could send a pan of lasagna via USPS, but that isn't super practical right now (though when he gets back home, meals are surely welcome!).
