How Did I Choose to Become an Interfaith Minister?

First let me say that God has a quirky sense of humor and doesn't take NO for an answer.  Last fall, I began to dream about the Ankh symbol pretty regularly.  This isn't the first time, since i've been dreaming about it since I was in my 20s.  As I began to question the meaning of these dreams, it seemed like I would see the symbol wherever I went.   In 2016, I visited Riverside Church and to my surprise stumbled upon The Key, an art exhibition using the world’s most ancient symbol of harmony and pluralism, the Egyptian Ankh (known as the “Key of Life”).  While sitting in the pew, I reached for the church bulletin and saw a notice offering support for those interested in becoming a minister.  Something stirred in me that day, yet I did not see myself as a church minister.  I wasn't religious, so I dismissed it.

A year later through a series of coincidences and divine interventions, I was led to this path.  I originally planned to apply for the Spiritual Counseling Program.  But I found out I would have to spend my first year at the Interfaith Seminary before starting.   While reading the description of the seminary program, I felt a deep YES in my gut and knew that the Ankh and other symbols were beacons leading me to becoming an Interfaith Minister.

My first year at the One Spirit Interfaith Seminary  was spent studying different religions and spiritual belief systems.  Year 2 is about creating rituals and ceremonies.  Upon being ordained as an Interfaith Minister, in June of 2020 I see myself doing something related women's empowerment and supporting a person's journey to wholeness. I also see myself facilitating interfaith spiritual circles for healing and self-care for women.   We'll see if that is what God has in mind for me.  One thing the leadership of One Spirit keep saying is to be open to being surprised.

I have raised money for others in the past and this time need your support.

If you’ve followed my journey and feel called to support me, I would greatly appreciate your donation.  I

Last year your donations helped with tuition as well as support until I got a full time job.  I'm grateful to be able to meet my living expenses but the funds for tuition aren't there.  Please help.
