I am a medical marijuana patient. On June 8th the police raided my home and confiscated my Medical Cannabis illegally. I use the whole plant to medicate all the way down to the roots. RAW not cooked. I cannot get this medication from any dispensary here in Connecticut. I am now having very severe back spasms again and I am in a great deal of pain. Connecticut Medical Marijuana Patients are allowed to possess “The combined amount of marijuana possessed by the qualifying patient and the primary caregiver for palliative use does not exceed an amount of usable marijuana reasonably necessary to ensure uninterrupted availability for a period of one month, as determined by the Department of Consumer Protection pursuant to regulations” as stated in House Bill No. 5389. That bill defines Marijuana as,

"Marijuana" means marijuana, as defined in section 21a-240 of the general statutes; “

“Marijuana” means all parts of any plant, or species of the genus cannabis or any infra specific taxon thereof, whether growing or not; the seeds thereof; the resin extracted from any part of the plant; and every compound, manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture, or preparation of such plant, its seeds or resin. It does not include the mature stalks of such plant, fiber produced from such stalks, oil or cake made from the seeds of such plant, any other compound, manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture or preparation of such mature stalks, except the resin extracted therefrom, fiber, oil, or cake, or the sterilized seed of such plant which is incapable of germination. Included are cannabinon, cannabinolor cannabidiol and chemical compounds which are similar tocannabinon, cannabinol orcannabidiol in chemical structure or which are similar thereto in physiological effect, and which show a like potential for abuse, which are controlled substances under this chapter unless modified;

As you can see Marijuana is marijuana “whether growing or not”, this is very important to a medical marijuana patient!

My current legal expenses are estimated to be over $50,000. Every medical cannabis patient in any legal state should be able to grow this plant without fear of arrest and confiscation of life saving medication.

Without our help all medical marijuana patient rights are lost.

A donation of any amount would be greatly appreciated.

100% of all funds left over from legal expenses will be donated to help patients in Connecticut who cannot afford medication.  The money must go back to those who need it.

Update on my court case. I am still currently without an attorney. I am working out a contract with an attorney and although not pro bono he comes highly recomended. I will be paying $850 a month for 5 months. That money will come from a studio rental, tiny house, I rent for $850 a month. I will only ask for donations when needed. For now I need you help either renting the studio or somehow getting the first $850 to retain him. For the attorney to take me up to trial it will cost $4250. We are hoping that we can avoid a costly trial. The attorney has reviewed the case and is excited to accept the challenge. I know many of you are in the same boat as I am with money and find it hard to donate. In that case you are invited to help fill the Derby Courthouse on April 18th, 2018 at 10:00am. We are a collective of citizens demanding an end of patient prosecutions for growing our own medication, medication NOT available at any dispensary in Connecticut. Please rent, donate or fill the courthouse, any way you can help will create change.

Thank you,
Norman Plude

I am going to trial! The prosecution refuse to see reason at medical patients in Connecticut need grow rights. I am currently without an attorney as he has removed himself from the case. This is a Connecticut Landmark case that will allow Connecticut patients home grow if I win. Estimated cost for this attorney is $50,000 or I will have to be forced to use a public defender and take my chance. If you're an attorney and want to win a patient grow right case in Connecticut and you're a cannabis activist, it's time to step up and help all cannabis patients in Connecticut. It is absolutely time for any media to be enlightened to the current situation. This is a time when Connecticut medical marijuana patients must stand together as a group, a collective if you will. Only by the power of many can we get this task done once and for all. We are not prisoners, we are patients and never forget that, all patients are being tried with this case

I’m sorry it’s not more ... I have two disabled children who are MMJ patients and myself, so I’m broke. Medical patients should be allowed to grow. Dispensaries in CT don’t carry the strain my child needs and their access to their necessary medication should not depend on whether I can afford it this month. No patient should have to choose between bills, food or necessary medication that could be grown at home. Access to this plant is our God (or nature) given right. Patients over profits!!
