Parker Williams had a large aggressive tumor removed from behind his tonsils. It was stage 4 cancer. He is currently undergoing radiation and will have a long road of recovery ahead of him.
Parker has been a pillar in our community. He was a teacher in the Frazee Public School as well as a coach at Frazee, Lake Park and other locations. He is a long time member of the Detroit Lakes Community Center, which we consider his second home.
We would like to help Give Back to Parker and Pam, as they have given so much to our community.
There will be a Chili Feed held in Detroit Lakes at the Holmes Theatre on Wednesday, January 24th from 4:30-6:30pm. Free Will Donation. Please plan on attending. There will be other items at the event to win, including a $400 value steak dinner for 10, 1/2 a hog from Lakes Processing and a golf membership from Maple Hills.
If you would like to volunteer at the event, please contact one of the committee members listed below. We are also accepting donations of cookies, bars and bottled water, which can be dropped off at the Fitness Front Desk of the DLCCC.
The Class of 1975 has offered a challenge to give $75. Will anyone take up that challenge? Please contact us if you would like to be included on that list.
