The church building was constructed by Ukrainian immigrants in the 1920s and ever since has been used until the congregation slowly dwindled until the parish finally closed by 2009.
Eventually, the building was taken over by the Nebraska Ukrainian Orthodox Exarchate and its parish, Saints Simon and Jude Eastern Christian Church, in November 2016.
