Paprika Seizure Fund

Hi friends,

So, Paps had a seizure today. She was just sitting next to me and then she made an awful noise and fell off the bed and it lasted for about a minute. It was really scary.

After she regained conciousness I gave her a bath since she lost control of her bowels and had urine all over her. Then, I took her to the vet.

About a year ago, my old roomate's cat broke through the accordian door I installed as a cat barrier and attacked Paps upstairs. She developed a pretty bad abscess where he bit her on the face, and I had to take her to get it lanced/drained/tube in her face/antibiotics the whole shebang. After it healed she was fine, albeit really scared of the other cat until he moved out.

Back to today- The vet said that the abscess has somehow returned and it's very infected, to the point where she's had a really high fever for probably a few days. She has seemed a little off, but I didn't think too much of it. He said cats are really good at hiding pain and to not feel bad but I still do. The abscess isn't visible like it was last time, just a lump that I didn't even notice because of her fluff face. It got so bad that her brain just couldn't handle it, thus the seizure.

Basically, I'm in a really precarious financial situation right now. I lost a couple of my main photo gigs recently, and while I'm trying to hustle my ass, I straight up can't afford this. I'm picking her up tonight after she has surgery and will put it on my credit card, but it's just money that I don't have. Honestly I'm pretty embarrased about asking for help and I'm kicking myself for cancelling my pet insurance a few months ago to save money.

SO, if you can spare $5 I'd really appreciate it. You all know I'm good for favors, truck required errands, whatever you need. Any contribution will go to her surgery, pain and antibiotic meds, blood work and the seemingly high but probably normal animal hospital fee.

Thanks for reading.

UPDATE: Just picked her up. She had another seizure during surgery. The doc says she needs meds twice a day, indefinitely. The infection is worse than he thought and he doesn't seem very confident. Please send healing vibes.
