Sharing Love one flower at a time:)
I have given the last ten years to promoting and perfecting my craft which I call Tenko-Gami. I only use napkins or soft paper to create a realistic looking flower. My flowers have appeared in many medias such as local newspapers, television (OPB.ORG) (KGW.COM), art shows, craft contest, retailers and workshops for high schools and libraries.
How it all started
People always ask how did I ever get started with this flower making hobby of mine. My primary way of earning an income was car sales and on the car lot you may be on shift for eight to thirteen hours per day. When times are slow filling up that time can prove to be rather challenging. One day while waiting for customers to arrive, I asked our Heavenly Father to bless me with a better way to support myself and help others as well. Soon after that I received a gift, a paper flower made completely out of a napkin.
I went on the internet to see what was out there and to my surprise I discovered there was nothing that gave clear and direct instructions on how to make paper flowers. At first I didn't recognize it but my prayers were answered. I now had a gift and goal to work with. My god given gift to transform plain pieces of soft paper towels and create anatomically correct duplications of flowers using only napkins or tissue. Eventually I gave in or as my friends would say I started following my calling. Now I'm on a personal mission to share the miracle of prayer and love with the world one flower at a time.
In the beginning I did massive amounts of research on the classic artist. My favorite where Michael Angelo, Leonardo Di Vinci and last but not least Fibonacci. Each artist had a heavy influence on me for deciding how to visualize and fabricate a paper flower sticking with classic principles and formulas. If you noticed in the pictures the flowers our arranged to start off one petal one leaf then progress to two petals, etc. By building a flower in that manner I can show others in a easy to follow step by step format.
The Rules are simple.
Use a one ply napkin or tissue. Follow the four steps. Only use your hands.
1. Tear your parts using only your hands. 2. Create a pattern. 3. Roll all outside exposed edges for your leaf and petals. 4. Wrap all your parts leaving nothing behind.
I had a thought that you might be interested in helping me further my cause. I'm a thriving artist making the transition of home hobbies into an online business. My problem is in order to polish everything up and get the company positioned to expand or even gain world wide exposure would consist of me borrowing funds. I'm trying to secure $5000 to get the necessary equipment and resources to propel my company into a position to be more profitable there for allowing me the means to do exactly what I plan on doing, give people hope by being just for just causes. my company is worldpaperflowers.com what people don't see is all the things I do for people to bring a smile into their life. "You might be one of those people :) I give away a hand crafted flower every chance I get unfortunately I don't always get paid for my efforts.
I give plenty of flowers to the children as well as senior citizens and then I actively look for people who look like they could use a moment to feel special. Help me to help you to reach as many people as we can. To do or not to do there is no try. let's Do This together Donate now! I would sincerely appreciate you being so kind and generous as to reach in your pocket and share the love.
Any way once I make the flower I usually give them a official golden seal of authenticity and when the funds allow I also give them a card this is what it says inside.
