Paddling to Gold: TEAM CANADA

The tryout process began in August of 2014; 10 months later in May of 2015 the final team roster was announced. I was selected to Dragon Boat Canada’s junior national team (U18) for the 2015 International Dragon Boat Federation World Championships. To get to where I am now has been quite the experience. Paddling for Canada on the world stage is an incredible honour and an exciting opportunity!

World championships do not come without a cost though. As a recent high school graduate the looming costs of university add to the accumulating expenses of the upcoming months. Best efforts have been made to keep fees down for competing athletes, however most costs are out of the team's control. All contributions, big or small, are appreciated and will be put to good use (see below for a cost break down). Hope to see you at the world championships this summer! Come cheer on Canada!

Thank you,
Chelsea Hanoun
