The non-profit "Pack the Essentials" started in November of 2014 as four long-term volunteers working at the same school came together and started cooking on a daily basis for their students. During this period we realized, due to the daily interaction with local children, that there is a big need for a project that focuses on healthy food and nutrition. The majority of our students were eating white rice or noodles with sauce on a daily basis and nothing else, with grave consequences for their physical and cognitive development. Pack the Essentials was set up to cater to this specific need. Today, we cook over 800 portions of healthy meals a week.
To keep this going we need your help! And luckily the money stretches far here. With just US$30 we can cook a delicious and nutritious lunch for 100 Cambodian students.
