Gleb - Packer Family Medical Bills

Where it began: Our family's rough journey begins about 2 years ago when I was working full-time as an Assistant Branch Manager.  My husband Nate has been an insulator in the Carpenter's Union for the last 19 years.  Our lives changed quite drastically when I became ill with a blood-clotting disorder and was hospitalized with a large blood clot in my brain.  I was extremely lucky and after a week and a half in the hospital, I was able to come home to recover fully.  Then about 2 months later I was hospitalized again for yet another large blood clot.  This time it was in my abdomen and down into my leg then broke off and went to my lungs.  I again had surgery to remove the clots and had yet another week and a half-long hospital stay.  I ultimately lost my job and over the course of the following year and a half, I was hospitalized about every two months for major blood clots that required surgery and hospital stays.   Due to some complications of all of the clotting, I was left with a movement disorder that has left me unable to secure the same level of employment.  My last blood clot was January 2018.  February 2018: In February 2018, Nate became ill with a life threatening pneumonia that was caused by an untreated strep throat.  The strep traveled to his lung causing his right lung to become infected.  In addition, he also developed Sepsis.  By the time we realized he was really even sick, we needed to call an ambulance.  Nate was rushed to Abbot Northwestern Hospital and was told of the pneumonia in his lung and sepsis running through his bloodstream.  He ultimately was so sick that he was going into septic shock and respiratory failure.  The doctors needed to put him on life support to save his life and let his body recover.  Nate was on life support for about 10 days and things looked really grim at times.  He made a great recovery and was able to go home a day and a half after a total of 18 days in the hospital.  Nate was the breadwinner of our home and has not been able to get back to work yet due to his recovery and the fact that his job in construction has been impacted by the very long winter.   Current Financial Situation: We are currently struggling to stay above water.  We have countless medical bills, unpaid utilities and thousands of dollars in backed-up unpaid mortgage payments.  We purchased our first home in 2014 before our troubles began.  We have two daughters that enjoy living in a house and we would really like to continue to hang on to our home. We are now at a point where we need to reach out to others and ask for financial help to get us back on track. If you are not in the postition to help financially, we will gladly accept your prayers, and ask that you kindly share our story with others. Thank you all!
