Honcho Campout Queer Fam Fund

Today, we’d like to share the Honcho Queer Fam Fund with you all. This fund is not a charity. We see this as a way to help create a more diverse, vibrant community. We are at our best when we are fully inclusive. Appearing to be inclusive is very different from actually being inclusive. If we want to meaningfully serve the community, we have to take action.
This fund will help cover an individual’s travel to camp and provide food and shelter while they attend. It includes the following: Travel stipend, meal plan, camping gear, and the Four Quarters Fee.
1. Travel stipend: This will be used to help cover your travel costs whether it be bus tickets, gas money, or a portion of a flight, etc. We understand that everyone has different circumstances so we will try to accommodate everyone as best as possible.
2. Meal Plan ($175) - The meal plan includes two meals a day Thursday, August 16th through Sunday August 19th. Vegan and vegetarian meal options are available.
3. Camping Gear ($139) - We will supply you with the Basic Camping Package from Outdoors Geek. This will include a two person tent, 2 sleeping bags, and 2 sleeping pads, for the entirety of the event.
4. $65 Mandatory Four Quarters fee - All campers are required to pay this fee on top of the Honcho ticket fee. This fee would be covered by us.
*IMPORTANT NOTE* This fund does not help with the cost of a ticket to Honcho Campout. For that we ask that you submit a request to join our amazing team of volunteers.
We understand that this is sensitive matter and the identity of those who apply and are selected for the fund will be kept confidential. All entries will be reviewed by Honcho, Sarah Huny Young of AMERICAN WOMAN and Shane Christian aka Kiernan Laveaux of In Training. We will assist as many as the funds allow, however, we won’t be able to assist every single person who applies.
Everyone will be notified of the status of their request by August 3, 2018.
