Team Jessica

Jessica suffers from a rare neurological disease called Hereditary Neuralgic Amyotrophy. When her body experiences extreme stress and trauma, she experiences debilitating nerve pain and in Jessica’s case, she has lost complete use of her right arm and hand (her dominant arm and hand....).   Jessica and Shawn’s daughter Hadleigh was born in August and the trauma of child birth has caused the disease to flare.  This has been the most debilitating flare up Jessica has ever experienced.  Physical Therapy is slowly helping,  but this has created significant challenges with regards to caring for an infant.  The pain is constant and severe and this disease has no true treatment or cure.  

Shawn works full time and until Jessica can go back to work (she had to extend her leave with no pay), he is the sole income provider for the family.    He has been such a rock for Jessica.  They don’t have many relatives in the area so Jessica spends most week days alone with the baby.  She can’t drive, and only has one arm to do everything that a mother to a new baby needs to do.  This is getting harder as Haddie is growing and moving more.   

I would love to do something to make this difficult time a little easier and to take some weight off of their shoulders.   Providing them with extra financial support would allow them to have someone stay with Jessica during the week days (a nanny of some sort), help with medical bills, or anything they decide is the most helpful to their family.
