My name is Janie Chow, and I am a junior studying music performance at the University of South Alabama in Mobile Alabama. My future goal is to attend medical school upon graduation and become a physician. This coming May, I have the incredible opportunity to study abroad to New Delhi, India. During the two week stay, we will cover concepts based around health care, music, and culture life based in the country.
This amazing opportunity will allow me to witness the cultural diversity between not only the United States and India but also within the country itself. While in country we will have the chance to observe the economic disparities that span throughout the city of New Delhi.
Some of our excursions will include visiting the Taj Mahal, the Gandhi memorial, the home village of Mother Teresa, and local markets, hospitals, and colleges.
As excited as I am to study, learn, and grow in India, studying abroad is not free. My goal is to raise $1700 before I leave in May to help cover the cost of lodging, airfare, food, and in country costs. Any donation no matter how small is greatly appreciated.
