"Walking While Black" and Speakers
A Harford County resident and citizen who immigrated here long-ago was recently stopped and questioned by Bel Air police officers and asked if she was here illegally. She was merely taking a walk in her own community. This should NOT be happening, but the drastic changes in our country's climate have encouraged this kind of behavior. Something must be done.
"Walking While Black" sheds light on the plight of our black and brown brothers and sisters who are targeted by law enforcement officers, and offers "L.O.V.E," which is an acronym that stands for a process by which we can save each other'
Together We Will- Harford County/Upper Chesapeake and SURJ Upper Chesapeake, would like to screen this film for our community, and to invite the filmmakers to speak to the audience about the film.
