Brittany's Kidney Transplant Fund

On March 7th, my life took a complete 180. I went into urgent care thinking I had a sinus infection. I quickly found out I was wrong. My blood pressure was in stroke mode and my body wasn't producing blood, and I was the color of porcelain. After being rushed to Green Bay, I received two blood transfusions and immediately started dialysis and woke up totally lost and confused to where I was.

For the next week I was poked and prodded at so the doctors could get to the bottom of what happened to me along with 5-6 hours of dialysis every other day. To this day, I think they are still baffled as to what really happened to me.

The day the doctor came into my room to tell me what he thinks the diagnosis was killed me inside. He diagnosed me with with Anemia and Acute Kidney Disease. From what he could see was my kidneys were 80% damaged at this time. I was crushed!

After a week they sent me home where I would continue dialysis 3 times a week but for 3 hours and 45 minutes. A month went by, my new Kidney Doctor and the Davita nurses stood around my chair with an update on my kidneys. Doctor of course gave the good news of "blood work all came back good and the machine is cleaning your blood well." Then the bad news.."BUT your kidney function is not returning. We have now diagnosed you with Stage 4 Kidney Failure (End Stage Kidney Disease)." I was crushed again! She continued to talk about my kidney biopsy results. Turns out rare antibodies from an autoimmune disease had attacked my kidneys (IGA and ANCA).

Shortly after I started the process of getting on the transplant list and had a few set backs with an infection in my dialysis port, an infiltrated arm, and having to get a temporary port put in my neck for two weeks. Again I was poked and prodded for about a month's time and then a 2 week waiting game trying to patiently (most know I don't have patience) wait for the call.

I can officially say as of Aug 12th, 2016 I AM  OFFICIALLY ON THE LIST!!!!! God is so good!

With your donation, the money will help me pay for my ongoing medical bills, medications that insurance doesn't cover, and the ultimate goal-a kidney transplant.

Thank you all for the love and support, as well as the continued prayers through this bump in the road.
