Future Teachers Need Your Help!

The Rockford Grow Your Own Illinois is a multi-agency collaborative partnered with the Rockford Public School District to improve teaching in public schools that have a high population of at-risk students, by reducing teacher turnover and increasing the ethnic/racial/cultural diversity of high quality professional educators. We need your financial help to support teacher candidates who are completing the final phases of their academic preparation and practicum experience to become Illinois Certified Teachers.
Our teacher candidates are non-traditional students with family responsibilities. They have full-time jobs, but now must take a leave in order to complete their final twenty-weeks of studies. This places a financial burden on both the student and their family who are already struggling to make ends meet. There are no local, State or Federal resources provided for our students during this period.
In order for these future teachers to meet their personal and professional goals, we are asking for your help to raise the final $15,000 to cover their financial expenses during their final weeks of study.
