When you meet ALAN HILL for the first time it’s like he’s know you for years! He wears his heart on his sleeve and he’s not afraid to tell anyone and everyone how special “THEY” are. Most of you know Alan through growing up in Fresno, Bullard High School and back in the days of Sunday football with the guys. Cambrians know Alan from The Cookie Crock Market where he ALWAYS greets everyone with a genuine smile, and constantly has the best attitude. He sincerely loves this town and his job.
Alan moved to Cambria in 2012, married his high school sweetheart in 2013 and the next year his “bride” as he calls Nicole battled “Triple Negative Breast Cancer”. Now they have another challenge to take on in their journey of life.
Alan has been diagnosed with a rather large “Posterior fossa arachnoid cyst” (tumor) and needs brain surgery as soon as possible. Both neurologists he saw said they have NEVER seen a cyst this LARGE. How scary is that? The operation is scheduled for Monday, November 27th at The UCLA Medical Center. Sending out prayer requests, positive thoughts and blessings for Alan, for Dr. Marvin Bergsneider, Professor of Neurosurgery and the UCLA medical team to take exceptional care of OUR Alan.
As we all know the financial cost hits hard in times like this. Alan will be out of work for three weeks; two nights stay in the hospital and multiple trips to UCLA. We all know that the medical bills and expenses associated with this type of surgery will amount to THOUSANDS. To get the BEST treatment, we need to raise money. Please join us in helping one of our own. Every little bit helps!
Although Alan will tell you “WE GOT THIS”! It is my belief the “WE” is all of us. I thank God that Alan has been a part of our lives and ask all that know him to donate what you can to free his mind to take on this challenge.
