Outdoor School for 5th graders!!

Mary Eyre Elementary is a Title I school in Salem, OR. We have amazing, respectful students who work hard every day to do their absolute best! Being Title I, all of our students have access to free breakfast and free lunch.

Due to the lack of resources, financial and others, that many of our families face, a lot of our students haven't had many experiences outdoors. We would like to send our 5th graders to a local outdoor school camp for one night, where they will participate in multiple different activities that they've never experienced. These include physical and natural science activities, hiking, outdoor cooking, canoeing, and ziplining. 

This is an experience that our students will take with them for the rest of their lives. For some, it may ignite a love for the outdoors or for another, it may encourage career exploration in the sciences. Not only will our students remember and treasure this experience, but their families, who work very hard to provide and to do their best for our students, will be enternally grateful as well.
