Outdoor Activity Center New Vista

Tax deductible
At New Vista School, we’re transforming the lives of individuals with autism one student at a time. We see each student’s ability rather than their disability, and we ask each to reach beyond the limitations that seem insurmountable. Our evidence and research-based programs provide a meaningful life, a community and a future for all. We know our program works because our students reach national benchmarks and once achieved, they outperform the national average on standardized American College Testing (ACT).

PLEASE HELP US RAISE FUNDS TO UPGRADE OUR OUTDOOR PLAYGROUND, WITH AN EXERCISE ACTIVITY CENTER that complements our comprehensive educational services to help students with ASD learn to manage their unique challenges and become thriving adults.
A National Institutes of Health 2016 study proved exercise helps individuals with autism engage analytically, reducing their autism symptoms including stimming (repetitive self-stimulation).  While the school has a back yard, it is largely unusable, so teachers often ask students to “run off their energy” in the parking lot. Since research shows the value of exercise, the school has a goal of adding exercise facilities on premises as an important aspect of the program.
New Vista School is a 501(c)(3), WASC accredited independent nonpublic school serving the needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in grades 6-12 and beyond.  We are the only school in Southern California that is designed specifically for children with autism who are high functioning and fall through the cracks in other environments. Students come from all over southern California; many of them drive over an hour-long commute just to attend New Vista School because of the program excellence.

New Vista keeps data of its success:

·  95% of students demonstrate academic skills progress by improving their academic performance, as measured by standardized testing.

·  95% of students demonstrate improvement in one or more social skills .

·  80% of New Vista  students  enroll in college/college certificate programs and/or enter the workforce after graduating from New Vista School.
