Did you know 1 in 3 women and 1 and 4 men will experience physical violence by the hands of their partner OR over 10 million Americans are affected by domestic violence and/or sexual abuse annually?
Empowerment Driven by Knowledge Coalition, along with survivors Sophia Strother and Carolyn Thomas are partnering with various intervention organizations, colleges, healthcare and law enforcements agencies throughout the US to host "Learning to Exhale: Real Love Doesn't Hurt" symposiums to discuss the truth surrounding the journey of surviving domestic violence, sexual abuse and child abuse. Several survivors are willing to donate their time and unveil their stories however we need your help to travel nationally and secure materials that will be a resource to victims, survivors and communities to BREAK THE CYCLE and #GETLOUDGETOUT. Any amount will help us continue 'Our Journey Alive'. We need to raise at least $10,500.00 to host forums in 5 cities and a trip to Kilgali Rowanda June 2019 to share hope to sexual abuse survivors in Africa. We are looking to host all of them by June 2019 with a final goal of looking for distribution to create a national television show that depicts survivors thriving and learning how to love, trust and heal.
On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men.
We are dedicated to bringing awareness about a real issue in America…domestic violence and sexual abuse. Creating a platform through the new docu reality series "Our Journey Alive" will speak to the anthem of the "GET LOUD GET OUT" domestic violence campaign 'real love doesn’t hurt' and allow survivors thriving to make the headlines"
Each community event will include a screening of the pilot episode followed by a panel discussion to debunk the myths surrounding surviving domestic violence and sexual abuse and best way to address survivors' needs. It will feature some cast members from the docu reality series, local survivors, local shelters/advocacy groups along with a health professional sensitive to the plight of surviving domestic violence & sexual abuse.

MEET THE CAST VIDEO:
Carolyn Thomas, most notable named by People Magazine "The Woman Without a Face" and memorable guest of Oprah Winfrey Show for surviving her horrific incident with domestic violence.
Sophia Strother, most notable named the Sassy Crusader for her relentless effort to shed light on affects of child abuse, sexual abuse and domestic violence. More recently comissioned "Yellow Rose of Texas" by Texas Governor Abbott.
Shavonne - The Quiet Powerhouse & Courtney - The Stylish Rebel both featured in pilot episode.
