At the start of 2018 we have been falling behind on the monthly rent due to the increase that was applied via the Housing Agency. My Mother also was no longer able to work due to her deteriorating health. My Father lost his job at the end of 2017 and was out of work for several months. He was the main income provider in our family. That is what caused the rent debt to rise. He has since found work but the job only pays on a commission basis and is not enough to support the whole family. That left only two people in our family in work. My Father and Me. I've been working 7 days a week in order to catch up with the rent but to no avail.
The debt now has risen to £5000 and we have been given a court order notice to evacuate the premises on the 19th of October 2018. We've applied for council housing but the waiting times for those can be up to a year or more. My Mothers health has been slowly deteriorating due to the stress that we have been put under. I am paying for her NHS prescriptions out of my own pocket in order to help keep her stable. We do not know what is going to happen to us and we have no ready available friends to take our whole family in for temporary housing or even a house shared rental place. I've been contacting the local Court regarding our eviction and was told I would have to pay fees up to £250 in order to prolong the eviction notice up to a maximum of 45 days + the £355 fee for the court order itself. It is simply something that we cannot afford at the moment with the big debt on top. I am trying my best to reduce the fees via a EX160 form and to prolong our eviction notice to give us time to find shelter via a N244 form. This is all I can do at the moment.
