Jesse's Mitzvah for Peru Orphanages

For my mitzvah project, I will be collecting new and almost new backpacks and school supplies for children in orphanages in Peru. This is especially meaningful to me because a family friend who has volunteered at these orphanages for the past ten years will soon be adopting one of the Peruvian boys. It would be great if I could help him and his friends by giving them some stuff they might need.  I have added this page because some friends and family members said that giving cash is easier than items or gift cards.

My goal is to fly to Peru and deliver these items myself and to volunteer some of my time to get to know these children. There will be collection boxes:

·      In the lobby of my school, P.V.C

·      Outside my home at 2056 Quaker Ridge Road, Croton-on-Hudson

·      Temple Israel of Northern Westchester on Glengary Road in Croton.

 I will also accept cash, gift cards to Staples, Kmart, and CVS so that we can purchase items for the children.  You can mail them to my address or post cash here.
