OU Duck Pond

The OU Duck Pond is beloved to so many in the Norman community. I have been going for over a year now and learning that it's in bad shape. The main goal for this gofundme is to purchase food for the waterfowl who have been illegally dumped by their previous owners. They are not meant to fend for themselves--there are so many issues, but one of the biggest is giving them the food they need. Many people feed them bread. Unfortunately that is not good for them.  My fiancé and I feed them fresh veggies, meal worms, seeds, and corn. It is not cheap. We realized we spend anywhere from 40-200 a month on trying to help the struggling animals maintain a healthy diet. We have some very large goals, but in the mean time we think this is the best way to start raising awareness and to continue helping all the precious ducks and geese at the pond. Thank you so much for your support! Once we reach this goal and get stocked up we plan to revaluate and decide what is next!

UPDATE: Winter is the hardest time for the babies. With OU randomly draining the pond, which is the animals source of warmth, safety, and food, it is rough. There have been so many dumped Pekins and Rouen's this year and we are roping them up and getting them to safer environments, but we need help. Jacob and I are working on buying new nets and crates, and, per usual, food to fatten them up and give them a better chance of survival. We are also on a mission to save several geese, which are way hard to catch even if they are hurt. Smart smart geesers! One is named Winston, or short for Winnie and another we just call limpy. He is an African goose that was dumped. We definitely have our hands full, but we are so happy to help. If you can, donate! If you can, share! We appreciate everyone, and so do the water fowl!
