Please join us in supporting the Crazy Horse Symphony Recording Project!

We are the Oshkosh Symphony Orchestra  and friends of John Harmon . We invite you to help fund a professional recording of John’s new symphony, Crazy Horse. Its Midwest Premiere is in Oshkosh on Sat. April 30, 2016, at the Grand Opera House .

We want to honor John Harmon. Our goal is $15,000 to support a top-notch professional recording, an extra orchestra rehearsal, and the work of the orchestra that makes this possible. Because this contribution is to the Oshkosh Symphony Orchestra, your donation is tax-deductible. Every gift helps. Please give what is right for you.

 Contribute because ~

Your donation honors John Harmon. It recognizes his lifetime work as a composer—of jazz, choral, chamber, and orchestral music—and now, of a truly American symphony. John is a treasure to our community.  His music makes our lives richer.

Your donation supports the Oshkosh Symphony Orchestra.   The OSO is an important institution in Oshkosh and Northeastern Wisconsin.  A professional recording of this powerful composition becomes part of the Orchestra’s legacy.

Your donation enriches the cultural life of Wisconsin.  This project adds to the musical vibrancy of Northeastern Wisconsin.  It is a gift for all to share.

We also invite you to join the select group who will hear this powerful work performed live by the Oshkosh Symphony Orchestra.

John Harmon
composed Crazy Horse out of his belief that a courageous and ethical warrior who took care of his people should be honored. Since childhood John has been fascinated by Native American culture. For 28 years he has been Composer-in-Residence at the summer Red Lodge Music Festival in Montana. From that base he has explored Crazy Horse’s country. No one commissioned Crazy Horse. He spent over a year composing this symphony as a labor of love and respect.

The Oshkosh Symphony Orchestra
is a professional orchestra with over 60 musicians. Since 1942 the Orchestra has been committed to serving our community with beautiful music. It is honored to present the Midwest premiere of Crazy Horse.

Please share with your friends, and
thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

The Oshkosh Symphony Orchestra
