Orlando Fratto, our 35 year old cousin from Calabria, is taking on the battle of his life. Originally diagnosed with cancer in March of 2016, Orlando underwent chemotherapy and had a large tumor removed from his left thigh. Sadly, during a follow up examination in September of 2017, he was once again diagnosed with a symptomatic and even more rapidly progressing and aggressive relapse of the same disease. Orlando, determined to fight for his life, began to undergo chemotherapy. After 7 sessions, a CT scan revealed even more devastating news. His cancer had spread through his abdomen and into his lungs. The physicians in Italy then gave him a mere two weeks to live.
Being the determined warrior and believer that he is, Orlando didn't want to give up hope. With the support of his family, friends, and church, Orlando is taking on this awful disease and he needs your help.
Dr. Kato, a specialist from New York Presbyterian hospital, has agreed to perform a potentially life saving surgery. The only issue standing in the way of this surgery is money. The people of Calabria raised over $400, 000 to help Orlando travel to NYC, and that still isn't enough. He will be arriving on Tuesday, April 10th, and the surgery is booked for Friday, April 13th. We are very close to our goal, but we need your help to get us there. Please donate to this amazing cause and be part of a miracle!
