The Orange Ave Project

Tax deductible
It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences. – Audre Lorde

The Orange Ave Project is an ethnographic theatre research piece that seeks to amplify, celebrate, and remember the stories of those affected by the events at The Pulse Nightclub on June 12, 2017. By using these stories, we hope to celebrate the lives that were lost and show the spirit of love and unity that keeps Orlando, and our country, strong.

This project is divided into three phases, financial goals are cumulative;

Phase #1 - The Interview Phase ($10k Goal) by end of June (COMPLETED)

Phase #2 - The Workshop/Second Interview Phase ($15k Goal) by September
This next phase is meant to not only begin workshops in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and San Franciso; but also to assist in the second phase of interviews. This includes:
-Interview Trip #2 Expenses ($4k)
-Workshop Development/Licensing ($5k)
-Development/Fundraising Expenses ($4k)
$10k Left!

Phase #3 - The Production Phase ($30k Goal) by February
Once the workshops are complete, the final script will be put together and the performance will be scheduled. This will be our biggest cumulative goal throughout the project. This will cover;
-Compensations for Artists/Designers for their work
-Production Costs (Set, Lights, Projections)
-Travel expenses for cast and crew to Orlando

Thanks to our fundraiser, and Sponsorship from The Matthew Shepard Foundation, Phase 1 is Completed!

All proceeds from this production go to support the collection, archival, storage, and creation of theatrical pieces based on the stories collected by The Orange Ave Project.
