Orange Salon's Wellness Garden

$825 of $5,000 goal

Orange Salon's Wellness Garden is well under way, but we need your help to continue our project.  Many of you are reaching out to us asking how you can donate extra money to help us build our gardens.  Here is how your money will help us.  We are hoping to build a space where people can learn to urban farm, voluenteer, learn to grow vegetables in their own backyards etc.  We want to reach out to at risk youth, and the needy and teach them how to grow food of their own too. Girl scout troops, as well as yoga classes have been approaching us about using our space for learning and wellness.  We are searching for who our beneficiaries will be for the food that we grow; we are looking into several great charity organizations in dire need in the central austin area.  At this point donations will help us get raised beds built, soil, basic tools, first round of plants and finish the ground structure we need in place for drainage issues.  Any help is a blessing. Thank you so much for helping us help each other and grow life into our community.

Thanks to many of your generous donations we were able to get our first phase of the summer garden in the ground. I am excited to see there is still plenty of space to do more and God willing we will end up feeding and helping so many people that need it. I hope you will come by and see it soon and feel free to get your hands in the dirt. We are still trying to raise funds to get this going as big as this land can handle...

Thanks to your donations the Garden Project at Orange Salon is making progress. We are adding in new perimeter planters (notice our painted tires are coming along) that will hold beautiful "butterfly plants" by the summertime. Our bunny hutches got an overhaul and the bunnies will be onsite soon. We will continue to show our progress as it come :)

Thank you so much to everyone who donated so far. Yesterday our granite bed went down to help with poor drainage. We will be placing all raised beds on top of this soon.
This is the area where all the raised vegetable gardens will be built soon. Also planning a butterfly garden in the front left closest to the parking lot. Already have a Girl Scout troop volunteered to put it in for us to earn their badges.
