Operation~Save Bear from Euthenasia

Hello everyone and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the prayers we have received over the last couple days in reference to our children and our sweet Bear Boy. Most of you know a little bit about this but for those of you who don’t, I’ll explain. Bear is a 2 year old American Bully, and is a registered support emotional animal for my 11 year old daughter with PTSD and anxiety. He is an amazing protector, best friend and companion. He is loyal and all things you could want in a dog. We have had him since the day he was born, because he is a production from our male and female, which are also still in the home. However, the older Bear got, the more he began to push his way into pack leader role. We corrected him the best we could, made adjustments and worked with our vet. But even with our best attempts, he still targets his father aggressively. On Friday, September 29th, (after being watched and separated) Bear got to king again. Several things happen when this takes place. It takes multiple adults to break this up, King is always seriously injured (and has had to receive laser treatment in the past) the children witness the attack (which is exhausting because we they helpless) and we start the separation process over again. This Friday we decided, covered in blood, fur and a lot of tears, that we cannot as a family allow this to happen to King anymore. I called my vet and in between sobs she pieced my story together and I asked if I could bring bear in to be euthanized. She was all too familiar with the scenario as she has treated both dogs multiple times.  (Bear is non human aggressive)  My vet asked to keep Bear over the weekend and let our emotions rest and make a plan together. Maybe we could find him a single animal home. Maybe someone could foster him. Maybe someone could give him the same love we have given him. My daughter is devastated. This boy has been at her side since day one and is devoted to her. He follows her wherever she goes and gives her courage.  There isn’t a soul in this world that can give her what he gives her. We have searched all weekend  for a home for him and we have been in touch with Bully rescue groups and they are all full. We’ve spent the weekend in tears knowing he is in a kennel at our vets office and has no idea when we are coming for him, or even why he is there.

Last night a local local man reached out to me who can do intense retraining. He has worked with pitbulls that we’re animal agressive and we’re denied by over 80 organizations and he was able to rehabilitate and rehome these dogs . He has worked with dogs in court cases from Chicago and Atlanta. He has faith he can rehabilitate Bear and bring him back into the home understanding his place in the pack. If you can just donate $10 to help my family, my daughter and my amazing dog, I would be so greatful. Our only other option at this point is euthanizing him and while that has been a real thought, this has been an amazing light in our story that maybe there is hope! Please help us save our Sweet Bear Boy!
