Operation Help a Stray

This sweet little Rat Terrier/Chihuahua boy showed up seeking refuge in our garage on July 4th. After many online shares he still went unclaimed. He seemed to have been on the run for some time as he was very skinny and covered in fleas, ticks and bug wounds. He also has a broken leg. According to the vet, the broken leg appears to be an old and very complicated break. After discussing options in depth with our veterinarian, the most humane thing to do with the least of complications is to amputate. This little guy that we’ve been taking care of has been getting around very well on his 3 healthy legs (even plays fetch with squeaky toys) and he will do just fine with the broken leg gone.

His surgery is scheduled for Friday, July 19th. He will also be getting neutered on the same day.  We cannot afford the surgery or aftercare on our own so we are reaching out to our friends, family and the community for help. We (and the little pooch) would appreciate any donation you’d be able to grace us with.

After this little guy’s recovery we will also be seeking out a good fit forever home.  He will be no less loveable without his leg! 

The money raised will help pay for surgery, neuter, vaccinations, medications and after care.
