Art opens a window to the soul
Open Door Youth Services provides a home, family, love and support for children and teens who otherwise would be alone. We are making Indiana a better place for youth through our residential and after-school enrichment programs.
Our residential program houses children and youth ages 6-18, some stay for a few days, others for months or years. In addition to group and individual therapy we provide educational support, art classes, family style cooking, exercise time, and other programs to help our youth feel at home.
New Directions is an after-school program in area elementary schools that provide prevention education using the Social Decision Making Model.
Teen Court offers a peer-focused alternative to the Juvenile Justice System for teens on their first offense, this all-volunteer run program has reduced recidivism among first-offender teens.
Through a partnership with Bloomington Meadows Hospital children, teens, and families referred to Open Doors can receive outpatient psychiatric treatment along with in-person case management from the Open Doors staff.
