Ontario brewers shotgun dollar beer
On August 7th, the Premier of Ontario announced that the provincial government would be removing the current price floor on beer so that brewers in the province would be free to sell beer at $1 per beer.
In a facebook comment thread discussing just how terrible beer might have to be in order to be sold at $1 and still turn a profit, Kevin Freer, the head brewer at Block Three Brewing in St Jacobs, Ontario suggested that if someone started a campaign related to "buck-a-beer" he would shotgun one beer for every dollar raised.
So here we are.
In order to see Kevin put his money, or in this case someone else's discount beer, where his mouth is, I have launched this campaign in hopes of raising $1000 to make Kevin shotgun terrible discount beer. And just so that this campaign isn't solely about making Kevin binge drink swill, only half of the money raised will go toward sure-to-be-terrible dollar beer that is about to hit LCBOs and the other half will be donated to a charity whose focus is to help reduce poverty in Ontario.
And just so Kevin doesn't get alcohol poisoning, we'll let his Bock 3 Brewing co-workers help him drink the beer.
In summary: $1000 = $500 toward reducing poverty in Ontario + 500 dollar beers shotgunned by the staff of Block Three Brewing.
