My name is Valerie Denigris, a Paramedic/public servant, and I’m reaching out to our community and brother hood(Fire/EMS/Police) to help take care of one of our own.
Cancer, they said by 2 different doctors. They each recommended for him to seek Palliative care and prepare for the worst. One of our own, Louie Rodriguez Jr. of Kill Devil Hills NC, a 33yr old single Father of a 9yr yr old son. With 9 yrs Combined career/Volunteer Fire Fighter of Kill Devil Hills Fire Dept and Colington Volunteer Fire Dept; a selfless public servant/certified instructor. And Most importantly a Devoted Father.
You see, Louie recently informed me of his diagnosis: A tumor, 2 inches by three inches long, that was found to be cancerous. Thyroid Papillary cancer that has grown without symptoms until the tumor affected his left vocal cord paralyzing it. By then the cancer had already metastasized to the both lungs and caused fluid build up on the outside of his left lung, causing shortness of breath with the littlest exertion. Louie was referred to Duke NC, where his doctor are Confident that they can safely remove the tumor and their treatment plan can help minimize the masses in lungs. The Doctors consider this Cancer Incurable since it has spread from one organ to the next, so he will have to receive medical treatment for the rest of his life. With PET Scans and other extensive Medical Testing and Expense for Travel, this has put a Financial Strain on Louie. Doctor stated that he should not be working. The only source of income in the House Hold. Louie a new Hire to Kill Devil Hills Fire Dept. has not acquired enough sick time to cover his time off, but he is fortunate to be a part of the KDH family where they take care of their own.
A Stoic Father, who never asks for help, is in dire need. Louie sets a prime example for his son Dylan, who is vibrant and full of life. Dylan Idealizes his father, and they are inseparable. Two peas in a POD I would say. And his Next Goal to see Dylan Graduate High School.
So, Louie Fights this Battle not alone, but with our help. We are 1 Team, a devoted Brother Hood, any donation is appreciated if you can, please pray and share this page to help this devoted family in their time of need.
