 CANBY, OR
I orginally started this GoFundMe to help raise funds needed to provide shelters for a few residents of A Walk on the Wild Side.  And with the generous donations from many of you, we were able to achieve some goals, and upgrades.  Our battle with Clackamas County has never ended.  In October of 2015, to our surprise the property in Canby, where A Walk on the Wild Side currently resides was sold!  We have been given the opportunity to relocate to Washington County, in Hillsboro!  This will be a big move for A Walk on the Wild Side, but also a positive.  The possibilities for improvments will be incredible.  Our residents will be given larger habitats.

We are constantly trying to enrich, enhance, and provide all that we can for our residents.  We achieve little by little, but are proud of what we are doing.  One of our greatest to date acomplishments has been the completion of three adjoining Big Cat Enclosures.  It took us a while, but we got there.  We also completed our Bear Cage, and a water hole for Bella as well.  And we started our next phase, which was an additional three Big Cat enclosures. All the foundation, and cement was poured. And we were ready to build, until we recieved the news the property had sold.

All of the above now has to be replaced, cement foundations, gravel, contractors, leveling, etc.  We had our final estimate of the cost to tear down the Big Cat habitats and rebuild....$22,000!!  This alone does not include the cost of cement, and gravel needed.  Nobody likes to ask for money, nobody!  I am. These funds are needed.

When I originally started this one year ago, I asked for everyone to share our story.  I am asking for that again...

A Walk on the Wild Side is home to over 150 different species of animals and reptiles. Some of which have arrived from various situations. A "rescue" does not always mean a "bad situation". Some of these animals, have lost the only owner they have ever to known to cases such as cancer. And some of our Ambassador animals have helped those with cancer, such as Make A Wish for children/young adults.

A Walk on the Wild Side currently houses six tigers, four lions, and a black leopard. Servals, caracals, bobcats, Canada lynx, Siberian lynx, hybrids, bengals, savannahs, and plenty of barn cats also call A Walk on the Wild Side home.
